Once upon a time, three little pigs set out into the world to build houses of their own. The first pig was in a hurry and built his house of straw — quick as a wink, done! The second took a little more time and built with sticks. But the third pig carried brick after brick and patiently built until a sturdy house stood there.
Along came the big wolf. He knocked at the straw house: 'Little pig, let me in!' — 'No, no, no!' cried the pig. 'Then I'll blow your house down!' The wolf took a deep breath and blew: whooooosh! The straw house flew apart, and the little pig ran as fast as he could to his brother's stick house.
But the stick house couldn't stand the big blowing either — it wobbled, cracked, and fell down. Now both little pigs ran to their third brother's brick house. 'Quick, come in!' he called, and bolted the thick door tight.
The wolf huffed and puffed until he was quite dizzy — but the brick house didn't budge an inch. 'Then I'll climb down the chimney!' he growled. But the little pigs were clever: they set a big pot of water on the fire.

When the wolf climbed into the chimney and felt the hot steam at his toes, he yelped with fright, leapt off the roof, and ran away into the forest — so far that no one ever saw him again.
The three little pigs then built two new houses together — all of brick this time. In the evenings they sat by the fireplace with cocoa, and they all agreed: build it well, and you'll live cozily ever after.
